Last night felt like an adventure! Alcestrine and I decided to try this Korean restaurant we’ve been eyeing for quite some time. It’s called Kogi Bulgogi, located at the 2nd floor of the new Eastwood Mall.
The thing is, we have almost zero knowledge about Korean food. We order anyway… and I found many of their items to be very similar to Japanese food. But heck, I wanted something different, if I wanted Japanese, I would’ve gone elsewhere, yes?
So, they first give us complimentary appetizers consisting of spicy dilis, kimchi, stewed veggies.

Kimchi… is not my type of thing. XD I can eat it and I don’t find it disgusting (unlike how some people describe it), but I don’t think I’ll be having frequent servings of it in the future.
Then came our orders:
Grilled pork! The waiter explained that the leaves were meant to be used as wrapping, sort of like the vietnamese counterpart? It came with hoisin sauce (I think it was hoisin…), sesame oil and.. I have no idea what the other one was. D:

And a serving of soft-shelled crab salad. This was yummy! But I think they may overdressed it :/ (leaves swimming in vinaigrette is gross…)

And because of Ruben, we had to know what the big deal about Korean Style fried chicken was…! It wasn’t unique, in my opinion but it was really good fried chicken.

Lastly,we had an order of Korean style dumplings. It was sort of like a fusion of gyoza and siumai. It was cute and… tiny! Nom’d it too fast for the camera. D:
All in all, I found the food delicious but we lacked a bit of experience about the cuisine to fully enjoy it, I believe. Hey, and it’s pretty affordable too! All this for around Php600? Pwede na!
